Seminar Participation
What you will learn
During this one-week seminar, you will learn both how to prepare the base material for papier-mâché and two different ways to use it to create unique art objects.
Working with molds
The first way is creating an art-object using molds. You will be able to choose from a variety of bowls and shape your own molded copy. After molding, you will enhance your design with additional sculpting and finalize your vision by painting it with acrylics.
Creating from scratch
The second way is freeform sculpting. During the week, you will have the opportunity to sculpt a creation starting entirely from scratch. With guidance and support, you will learn how to build a base structure for your sculpture using various materials — a useful technique for any kind of handmade, free-form object — and bring the fruit of your imagination to life.
Guided by Sofia, you will explore papier-mâché from the creation of the base material to the final art-object.
